A Leesburg man was arrested after an argument regarding dog walking in his neighborhood.

Robert Lee Clark, 63, of 1605 Timber Ridge Circle, was arrested on Thursday after allegedly striking a man during an argument in the 100 block of Date Court in Leesburg.Clark’s wife had been walking her dog when a resident of the Date Court neighborhood confronted her, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

The Chicago native heard the commotion and rushed to his wife’s side, fearing she could be harmed. He struck the other man, who is over the age of 65.

A neighbor saw the argument and told police that Clark hit the man’s arm.

Clark was arrested on a third-degree felony charge of battery, due to the age of the victim. Clark was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,000 bond.
