Robert Ray “Bobby” Casteel, 74, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on December 5, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Bobby was born on January 20, 1947 in Coeburn, Virginia to Walter Scott and Ruth Viola Casteel. Bobby, fondly referred to as “Big Daddy”, was a fruit and vegetable inspector for the Florida Department of Agriculture for over 35 years. He was an avid bass fisherman favoring Lake Griffin for its prized catches. Bobby also loved Corvettes, especially the classics, and owned several in his lifetime. In addition, he was a skilled pool player and owned a pool hall in his early years. Growing up, Bobby’s family traveled the country and visited many of our National Parks. A jack-of-all-trades, he could do or fix anything, although a small pop-up tent once nearly outwitted him. Most of all he was a good provider for the family he loved so much. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife Grace L. Casteel, his children Jammy Ray Casteel and Renee Rodriguez, Donnie and Connie Smith and his sister Freda Bryan. He was predeceased by his daughter Tracy Stewart and sisters JoAnn Martin and Agnes Murphy. Bobby also leaves 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends to Celebrate Bobby’s Life will be held on Friday, December 10 from 11:00 to 12:30 at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel 1123 West Main Street, Leesburg.
