John Spudick

John A. Spudick (73) of Leesburg, FL passed away on October 14, 2021. He was born February 17, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathy (Conway) Spudick; his sisters, Barbara Spang (Ron), Kathy Whitmore (Barry) and Janet Pass (Phil McCall); his sister-in-law, Cheryl Mazza (Larry), brother-in-law Wayne Conway and sisters-in-law Dianne and Carla Conway; and his nieces and nephews, Ronnie Spang, Jennifer Long, Rob Hoeritz (Beth), Tom Hoeritz (Jen), Larry Mazza Stockard (Austin), Christie Walsh (Danny), Corey Conway and Matty Conway (Kayla). He was preceded in death by his parents John Spudick and Magdalen Deglmann, his father’s second wife Helen Spudick and his nephew Corey Spang.

John served the country in the U.S. Air Force as a flight instructor, training pilots in fighter jets. He became a mechanical engineer working in the oil and gas industry. After retirement, he and Kathy bought a motorhome and spent 7 special years traveling throughout the North American continent hiking, biking and kayaking, which were his favorite hobbies. John’s mechanical engineering skills mirrored his character and lifestyle. He was extremely detailed and methodical. He loved to analyze and fix things and to work through all kinds of projects. He has left many memories.

A memorial service will occur in Pennsylvania at a later date and venue to be announced.
