Louis L. Shields, 87, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, went to be with our Lord, September 21, 2021.
He was born in Miami, Fl. on June 9th 1934 to Stuart Louis Shields and Miriam Ruth Carlile. He graduated from Miami high school in 1953.He married Carolyn Marie Merryman, June 17th 1956. He attended Palm Beach State College and attended Candler school of theology. He then became a Pastor in the United Methodist Church for 33 years. He served Oran MO UMC, Saint Johns UMC Boynton Beach fl, High Point UMC Clearwater fl, Community UMC Fruitland Park fl, Wagg Memorial UMC West Palm Beach fl, Bowling Green UMC and Lake Panasoffkee UMC.
Louis is survived by his wife Carolyn; children Donald and Marsha Shields, Kathryn Holly and Charles and Deborah Shields; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Morrison United Methodist Church in Leesburg fl, on Friday September 24th, 2021 at 1:00 PM with viewing preceding at 12:00 PM. Internment at Shiloh Cemetery, Fruitland Park fl.
