A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly burglarizing a vehicle parked at a local motel.

A woman reported that an umbrella and a speaker were taken from her vehicle while it was parked at the Villa Lagoon Inn on Lake Shore Boulevard in Tavares, according to an arrest report from the Tavares Police Department. Images of the thief had been captured on video surveillance. The suspect had also been a guest at the Villa Lagoon Inn, but was gone when police began looking for her.

Using previous booking mugshots and Facebook posts, an officer determined the woman captured in the surveillance images was 23-year-old Helen Lee Stamp of Leesburg.
