Linda Boetel Smith, retired accountant and resident of Lakes of Leesburg, Leesburg, FL, passed away on June 7, 2021 after a brave battle with lung cancer.
Linda was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 5, 1947 and is survived by her only child, Lisa A Smith of Boston, MA. She also leaves behind many beloved friends in both Florida and New York.
Linda was a gregarious and funny Lady who loved wine and cats equally. A collector of dolls and ducks, she had a colorful home that reflected her artistic side. She loved to paint and sketch. She was full of life with a flare for acting and was in numerous plays in her senior park as well as a director. For many years she had a passion for tap dancing and enjoyed dancing with a group of ladies called “The Tapettes”. Her absence will be felt very deeply and she will be missed.
Linda requested to be cremated so a memorial service will be held in Lakes of Leesburg Park with the date TBD. Please make a donation to any cancer fund in lieu of flowers.
