Lake County sheriff’s deputies nabbed an unlicensed driver with Oxycodone Hydrochloride during a traffic stop in Leesburg.

Angela Christine Bergen, 40, of Fruitland Park, was pulled over at 8:54 p.m. Thursday at U.S. Hwy. 27 and Griffin Road because her vehicle’s brake lights were not working, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office. Bergen admitted she did not have a driver’s license and the vehicle was not properly registered.

A K-9 unit was summoned to the scene and the dog alerted on the vehicle, indicating the likely presence of narcotics. The Texas native admitted she had a pill in the trunk. She retrieved the pill which was identified as Oxycodone Hydrochloride.

Bergen was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, driving without a license and no motor vehicle registration. She was booked at the Lake County Jail on $3,500.
