A motorcyclist with multiple suspensions of his driver’s license was nabbed after he was recognized by a Lake County sheriff’s deputy.
Vatche Garabad, 54, was riding a motorcycle in the wee hours Wednesday morning on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Leesburg when he was spotted by the deputy. Garabad turned onto Picciola Road and then headed for his home on Indian Trail. The motorcyclist passed the deputy’s patrol car, giving him the opportunity to positively identify Garabad.
A check confirmed that Garabed’s Maryland, Massachusetts and North Carolina driver’s licenses have had multiple suspensions. The deputy noted that the Syrian-born Garabed has a driving history that “is too lengthy to include in this affidavit.”
It was also noted that Garabed was free on $2,000 bond following an arrest in April on a charge of driving while license suspended.
He was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail on $6,000 bond.
