Lake County sheriff’s deputies lauded for saving local resident’s life

Three Lake County sheriff’s deputies are being praised for working together to save a man’s life last year.

LCSO deputies honored
Lake County Sheriff Peyton Grinnell recently honored Sgt. Tim Beary, Master Dep. James Simmons and Master Dep. Charles Robbins with the Sheriff’s Life Saving award.

Sheriff Peyton Grinnell presented each of the deputies – Sgt. Tim Beary, Master Dep. James Simmons and Master Dep. Charles Robbins with the Sheriff’s Life Saving award. The trio responded to an unresponsive person in June 2020 and quickly assessed the situation and found the patient. They worked together as a team and immediately began giving medical care.

After two doses of Narcan were administered, they rotated giving CPR for several minutes until the patient began to breathe on his own. It was later learned from Lake EMS that the patient was clinically dead for several minutes, a report states.

“These deputy’s quick actions absolutely saved this patient’s life,” a sheriff’s office Facebook post reads. “We are proud of their dedication and service to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Lake County.”
