More than 9.9 million Floridians have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as Florida reported 96 additional deaths on Friday.
All told, Florida is reporting 2,304,860 COVID-19 cases. Of those, 2,261,813 are residents. A total of 85,814 COVID-19 cases have been reported in long-term care centers and 32,788 in correctional facilities. Across the state, there have been 37,172 deaths and 93,965 people have been hospitalized.
A total of 9,916,161 Sunshine State residents have been vaccinated, with 7,874,202 completing the series of doses. Locally, 407,765 tri-county residents have been vaccinated, with 345,084 receiving both doses. Those break down as:
- Lake County – 170,960 (142,335 both doses);
- Sumter County – 86,189 (76,193 both doses); and
- Marion County – 150,616 (126,556 both doses).
Locally, Lake County is reporting 30,622 COVID-19 cases. There have been 646 deaths and 1,582 people have been hospitalized.
Leesburg is now reporting 4,558 cases. Others have been identified in Clermont (8,221), Eustis (2,666), Mount Dora (2,195), Groveland (2,111), Tavares (2,083), Lady Lake (1,764), Minneola (962), Sorrento (890), Fruitland Park (871), Umatilla (803), Mascotte (654), Grand Island (389), Montverde (373), Howey-in-the-Hills (230), Astatula (230), Altoona (209), The Villages (190), Paisley (175), Astor (118), Yalaha (87), Okahumpka (58), Mount Plymouth (13) and Ferndale (9).
