A concerned citizen and Leesburg Police officers are being lauded for nabbing juveniles who were acting suspiciously – including one wanted in connection with a recent high-profile shooting.

This handgun was taken from a juvenile who was arrested in Leesburg recently after a concerned citizen reported suspicious activity in the area of the Laurel Oaks Apartments and Sleepy Hollow Road.

Officers received a call about the juveniles – one of whom was armed with a handgun – in the area of the Laurel Oaks Apartments and Sleepy Hollow Road. Officers quickly converged on the area and were able to locate and detain all three of the male juveniles, a report states.

One of the juveniles was arrested on a Lake County arrest warrant for the Light-Up Eustis shooting on Nov. 27 that left a bystander wounded. Another one was in possession of a stolen handgun from a Umatilla vehicle burglary, the report says.
