Al “Jack” Flowers

Al “Jack” Flowers (91) of Leesburg, FL passed away in his home on September 13, 2020. He was born April 21, 1929 in Berlin, Georgia.

Jack is survived by his dear wife of 67 years, Wynell; his daughters, Wanda (Bill) Suggs of Fruitland Park, FL and Vickie Flowers of Leesburg, FL. He was also blessed with grandchildren Kevin Jack (Kellie) Robertson, Rayna (Matt) Turner, Brian (Nicole) Suggs and Niki Suggs. The blessings continued with great grandchildren Alan Jack Robertson, Madalyn Turner, Reese Turner, Logan Turner, Eli Turner, Kathryn Turner, Dylan Mislovic and Lindsey Mislovic, all of Lakeland, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, and his daughter Sherry Flowers Robertson.

Jack was a dragline operator in heavy construction. He retired from Hewitt Construction Company. Jack loved fishing. He was also a skilled gardener never meeting a leaf or stem that he couldn’t root. He also greatly enjoyed hunting and camping. He was a simple man, yet he possessed a great capacity for patience and kindness for others. He will always be remembered as a gentleman and will be greatly missed.

There will be a visitation time, celebrating his life, at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel at 1123 W. Main St in Leesburg, FL on Thursday, September 17 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A graveside service will be on Friday September 18 at 10:00 am at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg. Pastor Sidney Brock will be officiating.
