Eustis man jailed on multiple drug charges after traffic stop in Leesburg area

A Eustis man was arrested recently after Lake County sheriff’s deputies stopped him on County Road 44 in the unincorporated area of Leesburg.

After a short investigation, deputies discovered that 50-year-old Contrell Miranda Mickens was in possession of a trafficking amount of heroin, Oxycodone without a prescription, marijuana without a card and almost $1,100 in cash, a sheriff’s office report states.

Mickens, who has been arrested 23 other times, was transported to the Lake County Jail, where he is being held on $60,000 bond. His bond also was revoked on previous charges of possession of cocaine, possession of a new/medicinal drug without a prescription, possession of cannabis over 20 grams, possession of heroin, two counts of drug possession, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is due in court Sept. 8 at 8:30 a.m.
