Leesburg woman found with drugs and coffee creamer claims mom pushed her from vehicle

A Leesburg woman who claimed she was pushed out of a vehicle by her mother with someone else’s methamphetamine found herself behind bars Monday night.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to the intersection of SE Hwy. 450 and SE 237th Court shortly after 7:30 p.m. to assist a Lake County sheriff’s deputy who was speaking with 25-year-old Angel Channel Hanson. The Lake County deputy had come across Hanson and reported that she “appeared to be in need of assistance,” a Marion County Sheriff’s Office report states.

Hanson admitted that she was in possession of methamphetamine and deputies located a black hand purse in her right pocket that contained a white crystal substance that tested positive for the drug, the report says.

Hanson also said that she, her mother and a friend had just left a drug dealer’s house and were heading to Lake County. She said she got into a verbal altercation with her mother, who then pushed her from her vehicle, the report says.

Hanson said that as she fell from the vehicle, she grabbed the friend’s purse, which contained the methamphetamine. And she said she also grabbed coffee creamer and her food stamp card, the report says.

Hanson, who lives at 34138 Lee Ave. in Leesburg, was then taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription (methamphetamine). She was being held on $2,000 bond and is due in court Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charge.
