Massive spike in cases of deadly COVID-19 virus reported in Leesburg

The COVID-19 virus exploded in Leesburg on Monday as 94 new cases were reported – the largest single-day jump in months.

Overall, Leesburg is reporting 1,720 cases. Those account for 16.9 percent of the 10,151 cases in Lake County.

It’s unclear if all these cases were identified from Sunday to Monday, as the overall number of cases across the tri-county area aren’t showing as large of an increase.
