Melvin Hugh Ghearing, born February 17, 1949, in Richmond, Indiana, passed away on July 16, 2026, in Leesburg, Florida.
He will be remembered by those who knew and loved him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Melvin spent his career as Vice President with Interstate Bakeries Corporation (IBC), a role that was an important part of his life. Outside of work, he loved golfing, a pastime that brought him enjoyment and time well spent.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his children, Scott and Megan (Dave); his grandchildren, Jakob and Taylor; his sister, Mary Margaret (Fred) Campbell; his nephew, Mike; and his niece, Cindy (Kevin) and family. These relationships were an important part of his life, and his memory will remain with them always.
Melvin’s life was marked by the family he cherished and the years he shared with them. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
