Agnes Kirkland Brown, 84, of Groveland passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026. She was born in Lakeland, Florida on October 29, 1941 to Perry and Nettie Lou Kirkland and was one of eleven children.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wayne L. Brown of Groveland, FL, son Cecil Brown (Patty) of Leesburg, FL, daughters Brenda Brown Sapp and Kim Brown Tyson of Rupert, GA, brother Vernon Kirkland (Dee) of Lakeland, FL, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren
She was a faithful member of Bay Lake Missionary Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir using her beautiful alto voice that everyone enjoyed listening to.
She was known for her kindness, generosity, and bubbly personality. She was an amazing cook and well known for her mixed greens, potato salad and macaroni and cheese.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had many titles but her favorite was Mammaw Waggie.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Bay Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 9020 South Bay Lake Rd, Groveland, FL 34736 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Bay Lake Cemetery.
