A man with a suspended license and a Leesburg woman were arrested after leaving Circle K.
A deputy observed a blue Honda Pilot turning into Circle K, located at 10030 CR 44, Leesburg, around 12:35 a.m. Monday, July 13, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. He then saw the suspended driver, 41-year-old Christopher Edward Wolff, through the window, along with 51-year-old Tina Marie Farmer.
As the vehicle left Circle K, the deputy conducted a traffic stop on County Road 44 near the crossroad with Emeralda Road. Wolff could not provide a license, insurance or registration for the vehicle, the report said.
A K-9 unit with the Tavares Police Department subsequently arrived on scene to check for narcotics. With a positive alert, law enforcement began to search the vehicle. They found a black backpack in the rear of the vehicle that contained a plastic baggie of methamphetamine, which Wolff claimed as his, the report said.
A review of Wolff’s driving history determined he had two previous convictions for driving with a suspended license and DUI. The most recent suspension was due to a financial responsibility case, the report said.
The officers also instructed Farmer to leave the pink purse strapped to her chest in the vehicle. She twice refused to do so, the report said.
Wolff was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving while license suspended with knowledge (third offense). The Pennsylvania native was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $5,000 bond.
Farmer was arrested on charge of resist officer without violence. She was released from the jail after posting $1,000 bond.
