A Leesburg woman will appear in court for several illegal gambling machines and fish tables found at Bassville Mart.
Agents performed a bust operation at Bassville Mart, 11240 Northern Ave., Suite 104, Leesburg, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to a citation from the Florida Gaming Control Commission. The 30-year-old manager, Stacy Rochelle Whitehurst, was working as the cashier while the agents investigated the possibility of illegal gaming slot machines inside the business.
They then found nine stand-up slot machines, three fish-table trolley machines and one coin-pusher machine. The illegal slot machines were turned off, but the illegal coin-pusher machine worked, the citation said.
The citation noted that on June 3, one of the agents had come into the business and saw that all the machines were working. Even two customers were playing the illegal slot machines and fish table.
A contracted moving company removed the machines and fish tables, which were then transported to the FGCC’s storage facility. Whitehurst was issued a notice to appear for own, store, possess, etc. slot machine. The Ohio native is due in court on Aug. 11.
