A Leesburg man wanted for theft was arrested on drug charges at Circle K.
Officers on patrol spotted 30-year-old Matthew Dale Thomas Gills entering Circle K, located at 3300 W Main St., at 12:55 a.m. Friday, July 10, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Knowing he had an active warrant for petit theft, they arrested him.

When questioned about narcotics on his person, Gills stated he had “dope” in his front left pocket. A search determined there was a multicolored baggie containing a glass smoking device with narcotic residue and a clear baggie with 1 gram of methamphetamine in his pocket, the report said.
