Christopher Suraj Budhai was born on January 29, 1997, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Surujpaul “Raj” Sanichar and Liloutie “Hema” Budhai. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Christopher later moved to Clermont, Florida, where he continued building his life surrounded by family, lifelong friends, and the people who loved him most.

Christopher was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Hema; his father, Raj; his grandmother, Jasmatie; his aunt, Rekha; and many other cherished family members who welcomed him into eternal peace. Though reunited with those he loved, his passing leaves behind an unimaginable emptiness in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving sisters, Elizabeth and Victoria, along with countless cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends whose lives were forever changed by his love, laughter, and unforgettable spirit.

To know Christopher was to experience joy. He carried a light that naturally drew people toward him. He could walk into any room and somehow make it feel warmer, louder, and more alive just by being there. His smile was unforgettable, and anyone who knew him knew how proud he was of his pearly white teeth. He loved making people laugh, joking around, and turning even ordinary moments into memories that would last forever.

Christopher had a personality that could never be duplicated. He was funny without trying, full of life, and always ready to make people smile. As a child, he was known for falling asleep in the middle of eating his food — something his family will always laugh about and hold close to their hearts. He loved being around his cousins, especially during sleepovers at Grandma’s house, where they would stay up late, play manhunt, make noise, joke endlessly, and create the kind of childhood memories that become priceless over time. Those moments of chaos, laughter, and togetherness became some of the greatest parts of their lives because Christopher was at the center of them.

He loved the things that brought him happiness and comfort — watching The Boondocks, anything related to Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon, gaming systems, music, food, and spending time with the people he cared about most. Christopher truly loved food and sharing meals with family and friends was one of the many ways he connected with people. Some of the most meaningful memories now are the simple ones: eating together, laughing until tears came down, listening to music, joking around, and enjoying each other’s company without realizing how precious those moments would one day become.

Christopher shared incredibly strong bonds with his cousins, sisters, and loved ones. He was more than family — he was a protector, a comfort, a best friend, and a safe place for so many people. He loved deeply, even if he did not always say it out loud, and the people closest to him always knew how much they meant to him. His relationships were built on loyalty, laughter, and love, and those bonds will continue long after his passing.

Losing Christopher has brought a pain that words cannot fully explain. There is something especially heartbreaking about losing someone so young — someone who still had so much life ahead of him, so many experiences left to live, dreams left to chase, and memories left to create. He deserved more time. More life. More laughter. More moments with the people who loved him. His absence feels unfair, and the silence left behind is overwhelming.

But even in the middle of this grief, we remain grateful. Grateful for every moment we were blessed to have with him. Grateful for his laughter, his jokes, his kindness, his energy, and the love he gave so freely. We hold onto the sound of his voice, the memories we shared, the stories that still make us laugh, and the love that will never fade with time.

Christopher’s life mattered deeply. He mattered deeply. The impact he left on this world cannot be measured by the number of years he lived, but by the love he gave and the memories he created in the lives of others. His memory will continue to live on through every story told about him, every song that reminds us of him, every family gathering where his name is spoken, and every moment where we feel his absence and remember just how loved he truly was.

Today, we mourn the devastating loss of someone taken far too soon, but we also celebrate the beautiful soul Christopher was. We celebrate his humor, his heart, his energy, and the love he poured into the people around him. Though his journey on earth was far shorter than anyone could have imagined, the imprint he left on our hearts will last a lifetime. Christopher, we love you more than words could ever express. We miss you deeply, and there will never be a day that you are not thought of, spoken about, and remembered.

Thank you for every laugh, every memory, every lesson, and every moment we were blessed to share with you. Until we meet again, you will forever remain a part of us. “Those we love never truly leave us. They live on in the hearts they touched, the love they gave, and the memories we hold onto forever.
