Duane Allen Devlin, age 85, passed away peacefully at home in Lake County, Florida, on June 7, 2026.
Duey was born on March 3, 1941, in Gilead, Michigan. After graduating high school, he married his first wife, and together they shared 13 years of marriage and welcomed three children. Later in life, Duey met the love of his life, Zonnie Mae Devlin. Together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, building a large and loving family that remained the center of Duey’s world throughout his life.
A hardworking man through and through, Duey spent many years providing for his family through agricultural work, picking oranges, apples, and watermelons. He was also well known as a “ginseng man,” dedicating countless hours to the work he enjoyed. No matter the job, Duey approached life with determination, perseverance, and a deep sense of responsibility to those he loved.
Family meant everything to him. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and the many generations that followed. His greatest joy was being surrounded by those he loved most.
Duey had a lifelong passion for freshwater fishing and could often be found with a fishing pole in hand. Some of his most treasured memories were made fishing alongside his beloved wife, his son, Michael and his grandson, Willie, who were his favorite fishing buddies. He also loved NASCAR racing and enjoyed sharing that passion with family and friends. In fact, Duey’s love of racing went beyond being a fan—he even drove a race car himself in his younger years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Zonnie Mae Devlin; his children, Patricia, Sterl, Inez, Bonnie, Peggy, James, and Michael; his grandchildren, Robert, Serena, Amanda, James, Logan, Margaret, Joe, Brittany, Michael, Amelia, Anna Rose, Patrick, Roscoe, Skylar, and Angelic; his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Savannah, Morgan, Maddie, Patrick Henry, Colton, Jarred Colton, Lexi, Kinsley, Oscar Jr., James Wyatt, Bella, and KarleeRae; his great-great-grandchild, Jojo; and his sister, Carol (Tom) Wise.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson and fishing buddy, Willie (September 9, 2016); his parents, James and Dorothy Devlin; and his brothers, Willey and Larry Devlin.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Roberts of Ocala Funeral Home, 606 SW 2nd Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34471. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date.

Duey will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his tireless work ethic, his passion for fishing and racing, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
