The Lake County Office of Emergency Management will host its annual Hurricane Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday May 16, at the Lake County Fairgrounds.
This free, family-friendly event is designed to help residents prepare for the 2026 hurricane season by providing critical information and resources from public safety professionals, community partners and emergency management staff.
Attendees can also learn how to build emergency supply kits, create evacuation plans, and stay informed during severe weather while enjoying interactive displays and hurricane-related vendors. Residents will also have the chance to take home preparedness supplies and enter a drawing for a chance to win a free generator.
“Hurricane season can change quickly, but preparation doesn’t have to be overwhelming,” said Megan Milanese, director of Lake County’s Office of Emergency Management. “The Hurricane Expo gives residents a chance to get the information, tools and confidence they need before a storm is even on the radar. When our community prepares ahead of time, we’ll all be in a stronger, safer position when severe weather hits.”
Lake County officials encourage all residents to attend and take advantage of the resources available to help them prepare ahead of the upcoming hurricane season.
