The bicycle did not have any working lights despite the nighttime hour, leading to a traffic stop at Alabama Street near C & H Neighborhood Groceries. He consented to a search and advised that he had a “blunt” with 1 gram of marijuana in his ball cap. There was also a 0.5-gram baggie of cocaine in his left shoe, the report said.

Hughes was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and marijuana (less than 20 grams). He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,500 bond.
