A Mountverde man was arrested on weapon and drug charges when officers found him passed out in front of Circle K.
Officers responded to Circle K, located at 16431 SR 50, regarding 45-year-old Graham Matthew Coleman passed out behind the wheel of a gold Honda at 12:50 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Clermont Police Department. A store clerk stated he had been there since 11:10 p.m.
The vehicle was still parked in front of the store when the officers got there. Coleman was asleep in the driver’s seat with the keys in his hand and a shotgun in the backseat. It took multiple knocks on his window to get Coleman to wake up, looking startled, the report said.
He did not look to be in his right mind and had a knife in his pocket, so the officers handcuffed him for safety. They then searched his person, finding two knives and a blue transparent container with 19 rolled marijuana cigarettes weighing 22 grams. There was also a white vape containing a brown liquid that looked like THC, the report said.
Coleman advised that he had drunk one 24-oz can of Red Apple Blackberry alcohol before leaving his home on Elder Berry Drive in Monteverde. He believed he had about 20 marijuana cigarettes in his pocket, and he did not know the THC vape was illegal, the report said.
The officers proceeded to search his vehicle for firearms. They determined the shotgun in the backseat contained 13 rounds with one in the chamber. There was also a pistol in a black container in the driver’s seat area. It had four fully loaded magazines with 15 rounds each and one in the chamber, the report said.
Coleman was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana (over 20 grams), actual constructive possession of synthetic cannabinoid and use/display of a firearm during felony. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $15,000 bond.
