A Clermont man with a warrant was arrested after fleeing from his probation officer and several deputies.
Deputies responded to 39-year-old Trinidy Lamar James’s residence on Forestwood Drive in Clermont at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. He was currently on probation for trafficking illicit drugs, and he had an active warrant for obscene or harassing telephone communication.
A probation officer was already outside the home talking to James in the driveway when the deputies arrived. As soon as one of them greeted James, he fled on foot from the probation officer. He went toward other deputies but fled back toward the first one, who pulled out his taser, the report said.
The first probe struck James in the finger, and the second missed completely. James continued to flee until a third probe hit his right leg and immobilized him. He was then handcuffed and taken into custody without further incident, the report said.
James was charged with resist officer without violence in addition to the warrant and violating his probation. He was booked at Lake County Jail without bond.
