A Lake County motorcyclist was killed after his Harley-Davidson crashed into a guardrail in the wee hours Saturday morning in Orange County.

The 45-year-old Groveland man was riding a 2021 Harley-Davidson Glide motorcycle at 1:23 a.m. westbound on State Road 408 west of State Road 50/East Colonial Drive when he veered off the roadway and struck the guardrail, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

He was transported by ambulance to AdventHealth East Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
