A Mount Dora man was arrested after allegely exposing his buttocks to a teenager for having a loud exhaust.

The 17-year-old was seated in his truck in the driveway of his grandmother’s home on Cheltenham Court around 9:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, according to an arrest report from the Mount Dora Police Department.

He was getting ready to leave with his 16-year-old girlfriend while his grandmother was inside bagging food for them. At that moment, 65-year-old Kevin William Matthews came out of his residence and started yelling profanities at him about the loud exhaust of his truck. Mathews then pulled his pants down, bent over toward him, and exposed his bare buttocks and lower body, the report said.

The act grossed out the teen, disturbed him and made him uncomfortable to return to the residence in the future. His girlfriend heard Mathew yelling but did not see the exposure, the report said.

Mathews later admitted to law enforcement that he confronted the teen about the loud exhaust. He stated he “did something stupid” and described how he exposed his buttocks. He also extended his middle finger toward the teen. He did not know the age of the teen but did not believe he had done anything wrong, the report said.

The exposure happened so near the private premises of the grandmother’s house that it was plainly visible from the driveway where the teen had been seated, the report said.

Mathews was ultimately arrested and charged with unlawful exposure of sexual organs. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released on his own recognizance.
