A Bushnell woman will appear in court after allegedly stashing $342 of merchandise in a storage tote to avoid paying full price at Walmart.

An officer responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., Leesburg, to assist another agency with a theft involving 41-year-old Shannon Elizabeth Ann Gullickson on the evening of Dec. 10, according to a case report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

A loss prevention employee advised that Gullickson hid several items inside a storage tote and did not scan them before leaving the store. She only scanned and paid for a half gallon of milk and a package of M&M candy, leaving the other $342.42 in merchandise unpaid for. These items included a movie, a screwdriver, books, Redbulls, donuts, ground beef, a duffel bag and a tool set, the report said.

Gullickson was subsequently issued a notice to appear for retail theft and trespassed from the store. The North Dakota native is due in court on Dec. 31.
