A Leesburg man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill his wife and himself with knives several times.

The wife of 33-year-old Mohammed Mouh had just dropped her kids off at school when she got a text telling her to come home on the morning of Dec. 11, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. She knew Mouh drank six beers the night before, so believing he was still intoxicated, she came back to find him in the kitchen area.

But he started to yell at her and asked her why she was home. Soon after, he stated they needed to talk and asked her to sit down with him. She refused, preferring to stand while they spoke, which upset him, the report said.

Mouh went closer to his wife and pushed her, to which she stated she was tired of how he treated her and was going to leave the residence. As she tried to do so, he stood between her and the front door. He told her she was not going to leave, pushed her to the ground and stood over her, the report said.

He stopped her from getting up for a moment only to grab a small black-handled knife, grab her shirt and hold said knife to her lower neck. He threatened to kill her before throwing the knife to the left side of the kitchen. He added that she could not leave until he allowed it, the report said.

Soon after, he grabbed a blue-handled chef knife, held it against his stomach and said he would hurt himself. In addition, he would blame her for doing so. He proceeded to grab the back of her hair and held the knife against her neck, threatening to kill her again, the report said.

Mouh next put the knife down and slapped his wife across the left side of her face. Once she had been hit, she called the police. They created a perimeter around the area until he walked outside the residence and surrendered to them, the report said.

The wife had slight redness on both cheeks and slightly messy hair as she showed an officer a recording of Mouh trying to hurt himself. In it, he lifted his shirt above his waist and held the blue-handled knife against the right side of his stomach. He stated he would “open all” his innards before striking her, ending the recording, the report said.

When asked about their relationship, she advised that they had been married for four years and lived together for one, the report said.

Mouh later denied anything physical happening between them or the involvement of a weapon. He also claimed he did not understand due to having a language barrier despite speaking legible English. He ultimately passed out with his eyes fluttering in the back of a patrol vehicle and had to be taken to UF Health Leesburg Hospital, located at 600 E Dixie Ave., for medical clearance, the report said.

The native of Morocco was arrested on charges of false imprisonment (adult – domestic), aggravated assault with intent to commit felony (domestic) and simple battery (domestic). He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $19,000.
