A Clermont man was arrested for indecent exposure after allegedly masturbating inside his red BMW while following a female bicyclist.
A deputy responded to a sexual offense involving 34-year-old Giovanni Ariel Pena-Polanco in the area of Cagan View Road and Woodcrest Way around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon arrival, he met with a woman who had just clocked out of work at 2 a.m. She had been on her e-bike near the intersection of Lowe’s and Chick-fil-A when a newer model red BMW approached her from Walmart. The driver, later identified as Pena-Polanco, followed her as she continued riding her e-bike, the report said.
She first noticed the vehicle slowing down at a school stop sign. At that point, he rolled down his window, turned on his interior light and called out to her, saying, “Hey.” She then saw him exposing his genitalia and masturbating. She continued down the road toward Woodcrest Way, where she showed her phone to him and he fled, the report said.
Pena-Polanco was ultimately arrested on charge of indecent exposure and transported to Lake County Jail. The Massachusetts native was released after posting $5,000 bond.
