A Leesburg man was arrested for battery after allegedly punching a coworker in the chest while working at Ski Beach Bar & Grill.
A coworker of 35-year-old Darion Amiguelito Huey reported being battered by him while working at Ski Beach Bar & Grill, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

During an interview at the Leesburg Police Department, the coworker stated he was working his shift at the restaurant on Oct. 4. He and Huey were in the kitchen having an argument, during which they made comments about each other’s personal lives. Huey got irate and made vague threats, the report said.
Huey then came to the coworker’s side of the kitchen, interrupted his work and became verbally abusive to his face. He walked away before coming back to punch the coworker in the chest without provocation. The coworker decided to tell his manager and left for the rest of his shift, the report said.
He initially did not report the incident because he feared Huey would retaliate if he contacted law enforcement.
An officer later reviewed surveillance footage from inside the restaurant’s kitchen. In it, the coworker was arguing with someone out of view of the camera. Huey approaches him, getting so close that he stopped working and backed into kitchen equipment, the report said.
Huey then took a few steps back to get his friend before approaching the coworker again. He proceeded to walk around and punch him in the chest. The coworker did not make any offensive or provoking movements toward Huey during the entirety of the incident, the report said.
Several witnesses advised that Huey had a tendency to become argumentative and irate with other employees. They also heard Huey escalate his aggression toward the coworker during the incident, the report said.
Huey was ultimately arrested Wednesday morning on charge of simple battery. He was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
