A Mount Dora man was killed in a collision with a semi in Sumter County.
The 63-year-old Mount Dora man was driving a Toyota Prius at 11:17 a.m. Saturday southbound on State Road 471 when, for an unknown reason, he crossed the centerline and collided with a semi driven by a 32-year-old Hialeah Gardens man, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The semi had been northbound on State Road 471, north of State Road 50.
The Mount Dora man was taken to an area hospital where he died of injuries suffered in the crash.
The truck driver was not injured.
