The basketball coach at Leesburg High School landed behind bars after he was stopped for speeding.
An officer stopped 43-year-old Sean Campbell of Apopka in a grey Ford F-150 around 7:20 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Mount Dora Police Department. Radar showed he had been traveling at 69 miles per hour in a 50-mph zone on U.S. Hwy. 441.
A check of Campbell’s driving status revealed his license was suspended for failure to pay traffic fines. Further investigation showed that the registration to his truck had expired in July, and he had a prior guilty conviction for driving while his license was suspended on June 26, 2005, the report said.
Campbell has brought great success to both the boys and girls basketball programs at Leesburg High School. Campbell has successfully brought home state titles for the Yellow Jackets.
Campbell was arrested on charge of driving while license suspended (second conviction). He was also given verbal warnings for speeding and the expired registration. The native of Guatemala was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
