The groundbreaking ceremony for the Venetian Cove Marina has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, on site at 250 Ball Park Rd., Leesburg.
The project includes removal of the current building and construction of an entirely new facility that is designed to enhance services for marina visitors and the broader community. Upon completion, it will feature two offices, a reception area, restrooms and covered outdoor seating, providing a comfortable and functional space for boaters and visitors alike.
This new facility will enable the city to maintain its high standards of service for marina customers. Additionally, it will give restroom access to boaters using the Venetian Gardens boat ramp and to all visitors to Venetian Gardens.
During construction, a temporary marina office will be located on site. Operations will continue as normal, and staff anticipates minimal impact on the public.
The project has been made possible through funding from a Legislative Priority Grant and contributions from the city. The investment in the community totals $1.1 million. The marina design was developed by Edgewater Group and construction will be carried out by GSB Construction & Development Inc. of Leesburg.
