The American Motor Drome Company’s Wall of Death is coming to Leesburg’s Bikefest April 25 and 26.
The Wall of Death is billed as “America’s Original Extreme Motorcycle Thrill Show’
The Motor Drome consists of a 30 foot silo-shaped wooden cylinder in which daredevil motorcyclists perform trick riding moves along the vertical wall while riding antique Harley and Indian motorcycles. Spectators view the action at the top of the drome where they feel the wind as the motor cycles race by inches from the audience.
Motor Dromes started on the carnivals and fairs– the midways of America– when entertainment was live and in person. Today, the American Motor Drome Company strives to keep this bit of history alive by traveling the United States, performing the show as it would have been 100 years ago.
The Wall of Death shows will be held throughout Bikefest at the corner of Main Street and Canal Street in downtown Leesburg.
