A Fruitland Park man was arrested after being caught driving with an expired tag and a suspended license.
An officer received an alert about a black Jeep headed southbound on U.S. Hwy.7/441 at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. The registered owner, 42-year-old Michael Tory Esposito, had a suspended driver’s license and an expired tag.
As the vehicle approached, the officer pulled in behind it and confirmed the tag. He then conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Shiloh Street. He checked Esposito’s driving history and learned his license was suspended as of January 2024 for insurance issues with a seize tag order. He also failed to pay a traffic fine in Bradford County in 2024, the report said.
Further investigation revealed Esposito had four prior convictions of guilt for driving while license suspended, the report said.
Esposito was subsequently arrested for driving while license suspended (third or subsequent offense). He was also issued a citation for expired tag less than six months. The New York native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $2,500 bond.
