A Lake County woman was killed after she crashed into a dump truck which had veered into her path.
The 23-year-old Altoona woman was pronounced dead at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital as a result of the crash which occurred at 8:23 a.m. Tuesday on County Road 439 at County Road 44A in Lake County.
A 28-year-old Leesburg man was driving a dump truck northbound on County Road 439 when he observed stopped traffic ahead and attempted to brake, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He veered into the southbound lane of traffic and into the path of a 2019 Toyota Corolla driven by the Altoona woman.
There was road blockage on County Road 439 as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
The dump truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
