A Fruitland Park man was arrested for a third time as EMS was called to evaluate a highly intoxicated passenger traveling in his vehicle.
An officer observed the driver of a red four-door passenger car, later identified as 26-year-old Marco Antonio Colin Olguin, fail to make a complete stop at a clearly marked stop sign when entering County Road 466A from 1350 Miller Blvd. around 9:35 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.
The officer positioned his patrol vehicle behind the car and watched it pick up speed, which he paced at about 62mph in a 45-mph zone. He initiated a traffic stop in the area of State Road 25 and Beam Street. As the vehicle came to a complete stop, Colin Olguin got out of the car and tried to approach the officer, the report said.
Two more men were observed in the back seat of the car. One of them appeared to be highly intoxicated. Lake EMS was summoned, and they transported the passenger to the hospital, the report said.
The officer identified Colin Oguin, who he recognized from prior law enforcement encounters. Due to a language barrier, the officer requested an officer from Lady Lake to respond for translation, the report said.
A records check was also conducted which revealed Colin Oguin had no valid driver’s license and had never been issued one in the United States. He was subsequently detained in handcuffs and searched before being placed in the back of a patrol car, the report said.
The report noted Colin Olguin had been arrested for having never been issued a license two times before.
The native of Mexico was ultimately charged with no driver’s license (never had one issued). He was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $500 bond.
