A Leesburg woman was arrested for allegedly crashing into the back of a man’s vehicle on purpose while she had children in her car.
An officer responded to a hit-and-run traffic crash in the 1800 block of Daybreak Drive around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. Upon his arrival, the victim advised that the driver of a gray Ford Fusion, later identified as 21-year-old Kimora Ayuna Williams, hit his burgundy Chrysler 300 from behind and left the scene. He did not wish to file a report and did not know which direction the vehicle fled.
As the officer left the scene, he observed a gray Ford Fusion turn onto Myrtle Lake Avenue and swipe the side of the victim’s vehicle. He then spoke to Williams, the driver, and the victim again. He remained with both parties while another officer arrived, the report said.
The second officer spoke to Williams who stated the victim asked her to come over. When she got there, the victim was nowhere to be found. She knew the victim was romantically seeing another woman who lived in the 1800 block of Forest Glen Drive, so she went there to see if the victim was at that house, the report said.
Williams got close to the house and saw the victim’s car on a road in the neighborhood. She was unable to give the officer the road name due to her not being familiar with the area. She then stated that when she got behind the victim’s vehicle, he slammed on the brakes, causing her to crash into the back of his vehicle, the report said.
They both got out of their vehicles and proceeded to verbally argue. The victim pushed Williams to the ground, and she got back up to push him in the face. A physical struggle ensued, and when they separated, she returned to her vehicle and drove off, the report said.
Williams became lost in the neighborhood while trying to leave. She came across the victim’s vehicle again and tried to pull next to it so she could talk to him. In the process, she swiped the side of his vehicle with the front of her vehicle. After that happened, an officer pulled up to both vehicles and activated his emergency lights, the report said.
The report noted that Williams had juvenile children in the vehicle with her during the entirety of the incident.
The victim advised that Williams came to his passenger’s and romantic partner’s residence. While he was in the vehicle with his partner, Williams struck the back of his vehicle with hers. She then got out of her vehicle and unsuccessfully tried to strike him while he was in his vehicle, the report said.
The victim ultimately got out of his vehicle, and a verbal altercation ensued. Williams then struck him, leading to a physical altercation. After they both separated, she again struck the back of his vehicle with hers. She drove off after that, and he called law enforcement due to the vehicle collision, the report said.
The victim told the officer that he did not wish to file a report for the crash, so he began to leave the scene. Williams then came from around the corner and swiped the side of his vehicle with hers, the report said.
When asked why he did not initially report the entirety of the incident, the victim explained he did not want to press charges on Williams or to report the battery. He still did not wish to press charges and refused to complete a sworn written affidavit, the report said.
The officer tried to speak with the victim’s partner next to get her account of the incident. She advised that she did not want to get involved and refused to explain what happened, only stating that Williams was acting crazy, the report said.
Both the victim and Williams advised that the events of the incident occurred in The Glen subdivision in Fruitland Park, the report said.
Williams was determined to be the primary aggressor and arrested on charges of simple battery (domestic), aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (domestic) and three counts of neglect of a child. The Georgia native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $13,500 bond.
