A 30-year-old bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Friday night in Lake County.
The man had been riding a bicycle at 9:27 p.m. eastbound on State Road 50 approaching Anderson Avenue when he was struck by a 2021 Chevy Silverado pickup truck driven by a 67-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The bicyclist had attempted to make a left turn to travel westbound on State Road 50 when he entered into the direct path of the truck. The impact of the collision knocked the man from the bicycle.
The driver of the truck was not injured and remained at the scene.
