The Camp Villages Model Train Show is coming to the Savannah Center and will be free for everyone in The Villages and all surrounding communities.
The Villages Model Train Club will host the event July 15-17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the recreation center, located at 1545 Buena Vista Boulevard. The group is looking forward to “kids of all ages” attending the show, especially local children and grandchildren. There will be running displays of almost every gauge, or size, of trains, including Lionel, American Flyer, Bachmann, Marklin, LGB and many others.
The VMTC, whose aim is to increase their members’ enjoyment and capabilities by building and operating layouts, has several shows a year. Last year’s winter expo saw over 1,000 train enthusiasts in The Villages. This year, the summer expo has been announced for September while the holiday expo is always in December.
