On the evening of May 11, an officer with the Eustis Police Department responded to Waterfront Grille, located at 350 Lakeshore Drive, regarding a male and a female, later identified as 69-year-old Michael Bomber and 65-year-old Susan Ingrid Giameo, being intoxicated and not paying for their tab, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County.

Upon arrival, the officer met with a waitress of the restaurant who gave a verbal and a sworn written statement seeking prosecution for the incident. She stated that a male and female came into the restaurant and began to order food and drinks. When it was time for the two to pay, the man became argumentative and did not want to give her his debit card, the affidavit said.

The female was highly intoxicated and walked out of the establishment headed to their vehicle. When the male became argumentative, the waitress called the police to assist her due to the man not wanting to pay his tab, the affidavit said.

The officer then made contact with the male who was identified as Bomber. He was sitting outside on a bench in front of the restaurant. He was visibly intoxicated and began speaking to the officer about what was going on, the affidavit said.

Bomber advised that he and his girlfriend, Giameo, came to the Waterfront Grille to eat and have some drinks. He did not know if there was enough money on his card to pay for the food when it was time to cover the tab. Due to his intoxication level, his story did not make a lot of sense, and he was all over the place in trying to explain what happened, the affidavit said.

Bomber began saying how he had to pay for multiple hotel rooms and several alternators for his truck so that was why there was not enough money to pay for the food and drinks. He kept telling the officer there would be money on Giameo’s card by 12:05 the following afternoon, and it would be plenty enough to cover the amount owed to the restaurant, the affidavit said.

While Bomber was speaking to the officer, he started to feel ill. Lake County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, and he was transported to Waterman Hospital, located at 1000 Waterman Way in Tavares, without further incident. The officer was unable to speak with Giameo due to her being severely intoxicated and also being taken to Waterman Hospital, the affidavit said.

The officer was still at the scene when the waitress provided him with an itemized receipt of the items ordered and consumed by Bomber and Giameo. These included steak bites, fried mushrooms, crab cakes. Side house oil and vinegar, 12-ounce ribeye, double Grey Goose, Lake Eustis Bay Breeze, frozen pina colada, double Titos vodka, Irish coffee and house tiramisu martini for a total of $170.63 with tax. Giameo gave the waitress a debit card that covered $8.31 of the total, leaving a $162.32 remaining balance, the affidavit said.

Due to both Bomber and Giameo being transported to the hospital, arrest warrants were written for both of them on May 17, the affidavit said.

Bomber was ultimately arrested for an unrelated incident on May 17. The New Jersey native was charged for defrauding an innkeeper with $500 added to his $7,500 bond for it. He remains at Lake County Jail.

Giameo was taken into custody in Pinellas County Jail for the warrant on May 29. She was also charged with defrauding an innkeeper with bond set at $500 upon being transported to Lake County Jail.
