Leesburg Christmas Parade will step off Dec. 2 on Main Street

Leesburg has a full weekend of events slated to help everyone dash into the 2023 holiday season. These free family-friendly activities are sure to have something for everyone to enjoy.

The celebrations start on Saturday, Dec. 2 in downtown Leesburg with the new Christmas Festival and the 56th annual Leesburg Christmas Parade. The festival opens at 1 p.m. at the Town Square in downtown and features ice skating, live holiday music, vendors, food and drinks and more. Festival goers can look for the Grinch from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Santa will be greeting visitors from 2 to 5 p.m.

At 6 p.m., the Christmas Cinema Spectacular Parade steps off on Main Street in downtown. Participants include music and dance groups, businesses, civic organizations and Santa Claus. For those who cannot visit downtown to view the parade in person, it will be aired live on Lakefront TV. Lakefront TV can be viewed on Xfinity 22 and Spectrum 497 and by streaming on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, ROKU and LakeFrontTV.com.

Light-Up Venetian Gardens begins at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3 at Ski Beach. There will be live music from the Leesburg High School Madrigals, food trucks and bounce houses. The light-up ceremony will kick off at 6:00 p.m. showcasing displays featuring over 500,000 lights, and the spectacular Christmas on the Water Boat parade will travel around the basin starting at 6:15 p.m.
