A Leesburg woman was arrested after security camera footage showed her punching her sister in the face outside a Circle K store.
Angel Lanier, 33, was arrested Tuesday and charged with battery and burglary with assault in connection with the incident, which occurred Sunday night at the Circle K at 900 S. 14th St., according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
At around 11:17 p.m. Sunday, an officer responded to a report of two sisters in a physical altercation over the theft of $130. He first spoke with Lanier, who claimed her sister struck her with a vehicle after an argument over the missing money. The officer then spoke with the victim, who said Lanier confronted her outside the store at around 10:30 p.m., the report said.
The victim said she was sitting in the front passenger side of her own vehicle, in the Circle K parking lot, with the window slightly rolled down when Lanier struck her several times with a closed fist on her right cheek, according to the report
Officers were able to view the security camera video of the incident the next day. The footage showed the victim arriving at the store around 10:18 p.m. and Lanier getting out of her vehicle and approaching the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. A verbal argument ensued for about a minute before Lanier reached into the vehicle and struck the victim several times, according to the report.
After Lanier was arrested Tuesday, she was taken to the Lake County Jail and released after posting $11,000 bond.
