A Eustis woman was arrested after her 67-year-old ex-husband said she punched him twice on his nose.

The victim told a police officer he was laying down in his bedroom and getting ready to go to sleep around 9 p.m. Monday when 52-year-old Jacqueline Faye Giroux hit him twice on the nose with an open fist, spat in his face four times, told him she hated him and then walked out of the bedroom, according to an arrest report from the Eustis Police Department.

The victim said he and Giroux were married for 15 years and have been divorced for the last six, but they still live in the same residence. Giroux had left the home by the time the officer arrived. The victim had blood on his chest and a blood stain on his nose, the report said.

The officer found Giroux in the driveway and asked her what happened. She said she walked into the house and sat down at the kitchen table, at which point the victim came towards her calling her inappropriate names. Giroux said the victim then hit his head against the door frame as he turned and walked towards the bedroom, according to the report.

A criminal background check showed Giroux was convicted of battery in 1994, the report said.

The North Carolina native was charged with domestic battery on a person 65 years of age or older and taken to the Lake County Jail, where bond was set at $2,000.
