The city will pay an annual fee of $160 per residence, based on the number of certificate of occupancies issued by Dec. 31, 2023. Every year thereafter the District and city shall recount the number of residences to ensure proper accounting. The city shall pay to the District a lump sum of the total annual fee due by Jan. 31 of each year. The Villages of West Lake will add close to 9,000 new homes to the Leesburg tax rolls as well as several thousands square feet of commercial space in the near future.
