Frank Burns died on Tuesday November 8, 2022, in Leesburg, Florida.
He was born in Brutus, Kentucky on March 9, 1942 to Lee and Elizabeth Burns. He earned a Bachelor’s degree at Cumberland College, Williamsburg, Kentucky; and a Master’s degree at Union College, Barbourville, Kentucky. He taught biology at Tavares High school, and was also a guidance counselor and a Special Education teacher at Leesburg Junior High School. Frank was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church, and in the past served as Head of Special Ushers for the church, was a member of Jaycees, the Kiwanis Club, the Rotary Club, and the Sons of the American Revolution.
He is survived by Diane, his wife of 42 years, daughter Michele Young (Scott) of Tampa; son Michael (Krista) and grandson Dashiell of Jersey City, NJ; sister Gail Young (Robert) of Hindman KY; and brother Lewis Burns (Irene) of Brutus, KY. Frank was a loving husband and father and a kind and generous person. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday November 15, at 11:00 at Morrison United Methodist Church, 1005 W, Main St., Leesburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Morrison U. M. Church.
