Tribute bands will dominate the main stage at Bikefest 2022 in Leesburg this weekend.
Four of the five acts scheduled to play Saturday on the main stage, located at 501 W. Meadow St., specifically play the music of a well-known rock singer or band. Attendees will hear sets of songs made famous by Tom Petty, Cinderella, Godsmack and Metallica. The music starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with Bobby Blackmon, a blues player who has opened for B.B. King and Buddy Guy.

Saturday is the only night of “official” entertainment provided by the event’s organizers, the Leesburg Partnership. This year’s festival is scaled back after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the 2020 event and pushed the 2021 festival to November. Having two Bikefests in five months leaves less money for entertainment this time around.
That doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of music in the downtown area Thursday through Sunday, however. Local businesses including Gator Harley-Davidson, Great Chicago Fire, Frank’s Place, Windy Acrest Festivities, McCracken’s Irish Pub, The Warehouse, and The Brick and Barrell are hosting bands throughout the weekend.
