A Leesburg man was arrested on a charge of trespassing while he was being evicted from his apartment.
Lake County sheriff’s deputies were at the the apartment building at 11021 Northern Avenue in Leesburg on Wednesday morning where 40-year-old McKenzie Dalon Miles refused to vacate the premises. He began arguing with deputies who were overseeing the eviction process. The deputies summoned the Leesburg Police Department.
Miles became argumentative, but when told he had 15 minutes to gather some of his personal belongings he initially cooperated. The officer told Miles several times not to return to the property without the consent of the owner. As the Leesburg officer was preparing to leave the scene, he observed Miles re-enter the property and attempt to retrieve more of his possessions.
The officer took Miles into custody on a charge of trespassing. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $1,000 bond.
